Changes of plan

So... when I started this all that time ago, I had a million ideas about 'getting fitter' as a whole general term without any kind of specific targets. I knew I wanted to be able to run faster and/or further, get bigger, get stronger and do it all with one massive change up all at once.

Whilst I know it's kind of possible, I realised that I had a priority, and that was adding muscle mass. Training to run long(ish) distances isn't really conducive to that aim, so that got knocked on the head. After a while, I found that keeping up with football, Taekwondo and weights wasn't really possible - no matter how much I tried mentally arranging it I couldn't find day number 8. I'd already dropped football one season in favour of TKD and didn't want to again. So, regrettably, I finished TKD. I still intend to take up fighting again as I do really miss it.

I got really interested in exactly how to build muscle - what to eat, when to eat, when to work out, for how long and how frequently. When to rest, what supplements to take and which not to.

There is a lot of conflicting information available and I read through a tonne of it. I've put together plenty of different plans to follow to keep mixing things up and the result was around 21lbs of muscle gain, going

from this                               through this                                   to this

I'm still a novice at this stuff but I'm enjoying learning and I think this might end up being a dumping ground for all the stuff I have learned/find out in the future...

It's slow progress, but it's progress...
